Like a well tailored suit, Klipsch is now offering bespoke speakers with their Klipsch Heritage Series line. Built to order, handmade in the US in Hope, Arkansas with a 4 weeks turnaround time, the four model line offers throwback design with some minor modern revisions...

Leading off the order is the Klipschorn Floorstanding Speaker, a monolithic corner-horn speaker (a design with a folded horn to front load a 15" bass driver, and meant to be positioned in the corner of a room so the walls of a room could extend the performance of the horn, increasing the effective horn length to allow bass extension to 35hz). The design has been in production continuously for 60 years, with only some minor recent changes that include "the elimination of the inset collar, or spacer, between the upper and lower cabinets for a cleaner aesthetic appearance. A horizontal wall seal was added to improve the low frequency horn's response accuracy." Available in a high-quality Cherry, Walnut or Black Ash wood veneer finish for $3999.

The smaller La Scala II shares the same horn-loaded drivers as the Klipschorn, but in a 38.5" H x 24.25" W x 25.25" D package, and is labeled as the "portable" and more affordable version of the Klipschorn. The major change since it's initial design is that now the La Scala II is constructed with 1-inch thick MDF rather than ¾-inch plywood. At $2999, it's still an investment, but it is quite a classic.

For more "budget" minded audiophiles, there are the Cornwall III Floorstanding Speaker, initially designed as a center channel speaker between two widely spaced Klipschorns (!), and the first ever center channel speaker, the $799 priced Heresy III Floorstanding Speaker (with an improved "woofer, a bi-wire network, and a titanium diaphragm tweeter with a larger magnet assembly").
