Lining Shelf Edge with Clothespins for Desktop Papers

We spotted this photo in the June issue of Better Homes and Gardens. It was the opening image for an article about using numbers and letters to decorate your space. But we're drawn to the brilliant organizing idea reflected in the photo...

In fact, the vignette in the Better Homes and Gardens photo has a few too many number and letter characters for our taste but we love the idea of lining a shelf that overhangs a desk, with clothespins to clip together important papers that pertain to a particular day of the week. Perfect for those to-dos that need to stay right in front of you but you don't won't them junking up your desktop! A chunky shelf like the Ikea Lack shelf would be a good fit for this idea.
