This is exactly how I do my pumpkins. I bought a set of lino cutters (different sizes) from Dick Blick, and I use a strand of 50 christmas lights for each pumpkin. I cut a hole in the bottom of the pumpkin instead of the top and have the cord sticking out the back for a cleaner look.
