Survey: White or Yellow Metals?

Right out of architecture school, we were hell-bent on white metals for hardware and plumbing fixtures. Brushed nickel, stainless steel, chrome. We wouldn't even look at yellow metals because we thought of them as old-fashioned and common. Silly, we know...

After some years of experience, we've come to love the time-worn quality of unlacquered brass hardware. It is a natural fit in most traditional interiors and warming to modern ones. We've spotted it in many Frank Lloyd Wright works and it's grown on us. Today, we select white metals for some conditions and yellow for others. What's your preference? Why?
